It had been my dream to start a coaching centre for the children of our area as they are really physically fit travelling up and down the hill everyday. Most of these children come from very poor families they are educationally backward too. Hence it is not easy for them to get in good professional colleges or even get a government departmental job. Since I had trained many national and international athletes while I was a coach at Kannur Sports Division, I asked myself why not I train some athletes in our area Pullurampara
So, I along with some of my good friends,started the training sessions with the help of SAI Volleyball Coach Joseph T.T Sathyan C.K and late Manoj Mathew who died recently due to an electric shock. The result was immense. Slowly the sports centre got national renown as we were able to train national and international athletes whose profile is included in this blog. Many got jobs in Government Departments and many are in the threshold of getting a government job. Many got admissions in professional collegesi n the sports quota. Not only that the fame of our simple village has grown outside the district and state.
We are facing many hindrances in our endeavour and one of them is that we are not able to provide nutritious food to the children and also good sports kit and equipments . As we are not able to maintain all the children of our village we are sending them to various centres in the state according to their taste and talents. Many residents of Pullurampara who now are abroad have visited our coaching centre and are impressed by the coaching .Most of the athletes who are undergoing training are from St.Joseph's Higher Secondary School Pullurampara. We really need good support from all the helping hands to promote us for this noble cause. We need to stand together and hold hands together so that one day an Olympian will be formed from our village
